Sunbird Tour Prices Last summer when rising fuel prices were dramatically affecting the airline industry, we were finding it very difficult to obtain accurate quotes for airfares for our 2009 tours when we costed those tours in August 2008. Because of this we decided to change the way we present tour prices on our website. We now show the price broken down into two elements. Firstly there is the basic cost of the tour which includes everything except the cost of the international flights from the UK. Next to this we show what was our best estimate of the flight costs for the tour last August. Oil prices have gone down but against that, many airlines are increasing fares to maintain profits in the global recession. As a result air fares are in a state of flux. When we send out the invoices for the tour we will only charge you the exact airfare that we have been able to obtain, and we hope that many of these will be less than currently shown. Private Tours Did you know that as well as running a full programme of escorted tours, Sunbird also regularly arranges private tours around the world. These can be for any number of people from individuals to a group of friends or a local bird club and can be either with a Sunbird leader or without, using local guides if available. We take care of all the bookings and will also book flights if required. Our 30 years of experience in the bird tour market means we have a huge list of contacts and ground agents around world, so even if a destination is not currently featured in our programme, there is a very good chance we can still organise a private tour there.
