Lester Perera has over 32 years of birding and 9 years of tour guiding, and is one of Sri Lanka’s most avid birders. He is presently studying the endemic White-faced Starling and the Ceylon Hill-Myna.
Equally, his knowledge of the country’s mammals, including marine mammals, has enabled him to add new species to the Sri Lankan list. An accomplished sound recorder, he was instrumental in recording the first Blanville’s Beaked Whale in Sri Lankan waters.
In addition, Lester is Sri Lanka’s best known bird artist. He has exhibited his work internationally, and has been published by the Oriental Bird Club.
