Pierre Defos Du Rau
Pierre Defos du Rau has been birding since he was 15 years old, and has been working as a professional ornithologist in southern France for almost 20 years. He received his PhD in Ecology and Population Dynamics of Red-crested Pochard, which he studied extensively in the marshes of the Camargue region where he now works full-time. He lives in France, in a small picturesque town near the Mediterranean around which he enjoys searching for Sylvia warblers and new organic wines. Although he enjoys birding in Asia and Africa, he very much cherishes his French way of life.
